Godby Shipping announces new charter contracts and vessel upgrades

Godby Shipping has announced several key vessel updates and charter agreements across its fleet, underscoring its strong market position and continued investment in operational efficiency.

The Mistral, currently on time charter to Sea-Cargo until the end of October, will transition directly to a new charter with Lakeway Link. Together with her sister vessel Lakeway Express (formerly Miranda), she will operate on the Gdynia–Södertälje route.

Following this assignment, Mistral will undergo upgrades at the Remontowa Shipyard in Poland, including the installation of new propeller blades and a redesigned bulb. These enhancements are expected to deliver at least 35% fuel savings at speeds up to 13 knots. Her sister vessel, Miramar Express, will undergo similar improvements.

Meanwhile, the Aurora, which joined Godby Shipping in January 2025, continues to operate for Peregar on the Algeciras–Ceuta route. The contract has now been extended until March 2026.

Current charter summary:

  • Mimer – Midline (until Dec 2025)

  • Mistral – Sea-Cargo (until Oct 2025), then Lakeway Link (from Jan 2026)

  • Aurora – Peregar (until Mar 2026)

  • Baltic Bright – Holmen (until Dec 2026)

  • Midas – CMA CGM (until Dec 2026, option to Jun 2027)

  • Transporter – DFDS (until Dec 2026, options 2027–2028)

  • Lysvik / Lysbris – DFDS (until Dec 2026, options 2030)
