A.P. Moller – Maersk has announced the appointment of Ditlev Blicher as its new Regional President for North America, effective 1 January 2026.

Blicher assumes the role after most recently serving as Maersk’s Regional President for Asia Pacific, a position he has held since 2023. He joined Maersk in 2020 and brings extensive global experience across logistics operations and general management.

Prior to joining Maersk, Blicher served as APA CEO at DB Schenker. His earlier career includes senior leadership roles as President for Asia Pacific and Europe for Freight Forwarding at UTi Worldwide and Executive Vice President – Group Operations at CEVA Logistics.

“I’m looking forward to working with our talented team in North America to build on the progress they’ve made as we’ve evolved into a full-suite logistics provider,” Blicher said. “Our focus will be on driving sustainable growth and strengthening operational excellence to deliver a best-in-class experience for our customers.”

Meanwhile, Charles van der Steene, who has served as Regional President for North America since January 2024, will move into the role of Managing Director for Maersk’s India, Middle East and Africa region. Van der Steene previously held the position of Regional Managing Director at Damco from 2016 to 2019, prior to Damco’s merger with Maersk.

Maersk said the leadership changes support its continued focus on strengthening regional execution and advancing its integrated logistics strategy across key global markets.
