Evergreen rolls out Inmarsat NexusWave across entire fleet

Evergreen Marine has confirmed the fleetwide adoption of Inmarsat Maritime’s NexusWave connectivity service, becoming the first Taiwanese container carrier to deploy the solution across its vessels.

The move strengthens Evergreen’s long-standing partnership with Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, and supports the carrier’s “Evergreen IT” modernisation programme. Following successful trials, Evergreen is upgrading from Fleet Xpress to NexusWave to enhance crew welfare, improve cybersecurity, and enable high-performance digital operations.

NexusWave provides bonded, multi-network connectivity with high speeds, unlimited data, and always-on performance. Crews gain a home-like internet experience, while ship operations benefit from a scalable platform that supports predictive analytics, real-time reefer monitoring, and integrated IoT applications across the fleet. The system is secure by design and built on the ViaSat-3 ultra-high-capacity satellite network.

Evergreen said the rollout reflects its commitment to seafarer wellbeing, operational excellence, and continuous innovation for customers. The company sees NexusWave as a key enabler for fleet digitalisation and future growth.

Viasat added that the fleetwide deployment gives Evergreen a single, managed connectivity solution for both crew and vessel operations, backed by global coverage and a secure infrastructure designed to scale with evolving demands.
