Lufthansa Cargo significantly improved business results for 2025. Revenue increased 4% to EUR 3.4 billion. Adjusted EBIT rose 29% to EUR 324 million.

The adjusted EBIT margin improved 1.8 percentage points to 9.5% from 7.7%. Available freight capacity expanded to 14.45 billion freight tonne kilometers, up 5.4%. Sales increased 7% to 9.1 billion freight tonne kilometers. The average load factor improved 1.1 percentage points to 63%.

Lufthansa Cargo returned to the top five global air freight providers by the end of 2025. The company achieved this milestone ahead of schedule. The BOLD MOVES corporate strategy contributed to the success. The strategy aims to establish Lufthansa Cargo among the world’s top three cargo airlines by 2030.

Employee engagement and customer satisfaction increased significantly. Quality measured in delivery on time increased 5 percentage points.

CEO Ashwin Bhat said the company grew 7.3% last year, more than double the overall market growth of 3.4%. The performance exceeded the margin target.

Lufthansa Cargo began marketing ITA Airways cargo capacities in June 2025. The cooperation includes nearly the entire continental and intercontinental network excluding U.S. and Canada routes until regulatory approval. Rome became Lufthansa Cargo’s fifth hub. The partnership will expand global belly hold capacity by around 20% long-term.

The company is the home carrier in five of Europe’s ten most important air freight markets: Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and Austria.

New A321F destinations in 2025 included Katowice, Rome and Beirut. Freighter operations to Tel Aviv resumed with up to seven weekly flights. New intercontinental routes included Almaty and Shanghai to Los Angeles. The network offers up to 50 weekly frequencies in Asia-Pacific and more than 30 destinations in the Americas.

Lufthansa Cargo strengthened its position in Pharma, Automotive, Aviation and Semiconductors sectors. The company made progress in digitalization with a new online booking system, improved tracking solution and AI-powered tools.

CFO Gregor Schleussner said the company is investing EUR 600 million in a new modern freight center at Frankfurt hub.

In 2026, Lufthansa Cargo will deepen collaboration with Swiss WorldCargo. Zurich becomes the sixth cargo hub in the European network. The harmonized product and service portfolio provides customers access to a comprehensive network.
