Fort Lauderdale Welcomes Maritime Leaders for the 23rd CSEC Gathering

Get ready, folks! Over 300 leaders in shipping and logistics from the Caribbean, Latin america, and the U.S.are gearing up to meet in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The occasion? The 23rd Caribbean shipping Executives’ Conference (CSEC), hosted by the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA) on May 19–20, 2025. this event promises to dive deep into the key trends shaping both regional and global maritime landscapes.
This year’s gathering is particularly timely as our industry faces rapid transformations. Attendees will have a chance to discuss hot topics like AI advancements, trade regulations, climate change strategies, cruise industry competitiveness, maritime safety measures, and ongoing global supply chain challenges.
Kicking off the conference will be remarks from CSA President William brown and General Manager Milaika Capella Ras. They’ll be joined by special guests such as Hon. Hazelle P. Rogers of Broward County and Joseph Morris from Port Everglades who will also welcome new delegates during this opening ceremony.

William Brown emphasized that CSEC serves as an essential platform for collaboration within the industry: “In these challenging times globally, it’s crucial we unite to share knowledge and innovate together across borders.”
The first day of sessions will tackle how AI can revolutionize maritime operations alongside discussions on crisis management strategies and economic forecasts for Latin America in 2025. Other topics include advancements in material handling techniques specific to our region’s needs along with future security measures at sea.
The second day shifts focus towards understanding U.S trade policies’ effects on local economies while exploring opportunities within the cruise sector post-pandemic—plus ways ports can boost climate resilience efforts moving forward! A highlight includes a session dedicated to mentorship through WiMAC-CSA showcasing pathways from guidance into leadership roles before wrapping up with insights on securing trade amidst global disruptions.
