New Sanctions Target Iranian Shipping: Multiple Entities and Vessels Added to OFAC's SDN List
The U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has recently updated its Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List, adding several maritime companies and vessels tied to Iranian interests. Among the newly designated ships are the BALU, a floating storage tanker flying the Cameroon flag, and ROC, a crude oil tanker registered in Panama. These vessels are associated with Forsal Chartering Corporation and fine Sanmata Shipping Co., Limited.
In addition to these ships, OFAC has also targeted CCIC Singapore PTE. LTD., based in Singapore Science Park, along with various entities from Hong Kong like Fine Sanmata Shipping Co., Limited and Qingdao Linkrich International Shipping Agency Co., Ltd. All these organizations are now subject to sanctions under section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224, which was later amended by Executive Order 13886. They have connections to Sepehr Energy Jahan Nama Pars Company.
This move highlights ongoing efforts by the U.S. government to curb activities that it views as detrimental to national security or foreign policy interests—especially those linked to Iran’s energy sector.
