TIACA Unveils 2025 Hall of Fame Honoree
According to The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), Jan Krems, the President of United Cargo, has been honored as the recipient of the 2025 Hall of Fame Award.
Jan is recognized for his outstanding leadership and customer-focused approach that has significantly influenced the air cargo sector. Thanks to his strategic vision, United Cargo has emerged as the world’s leading belly-only carrier, showcasing his dedication to service excellence.
“Jan Krems embodies the type of leadership essential for our industry—innovative, people-oriented, and forward-thinking. His influence on air cargo spans many years and continues to uplift not just his company but also the entire industry. We are thrilled to welcome him into TIACA’s Hall of fame,” remarked steven Polmans,Chair of TIACA.
Krems’ career is marked by a commitment to innovation; he has introduced groundbreaking products and rapid solutions that have transformed cargo operations. As an example, during COVID-19, United Airlines quickly pivoted by launching cargo-only flights—a first in the industry—which allowed them to resume international services more swiftly than their competitors. Under Jan’s direction, over 17,000 such flights were conducted during one of aviation’s toughest times.
Before joining United Airlines, Jan dedicated 27 years at KLM Cargo in various senior roles including Vice President for Asia and Europe/Africa/Middle East regions as well as Vice President for Worldwide Customer Service. His efforts were crucial during the integration process between Air France and KLM Cargo—an endeavor that highlighted his exceptional capability in managing complex transitions.
“Jan’s journey reflects a legacy built on transformation and collaboration with an unwavering focus on excellence,” said Glyn Hughes, Director General at TIACA. “His induction into this prestigious Hall is not only a recognition but also a festivity of significant contributions he made throughout his career.”
The official induction ceremony will take place at this month’s Executive Summit in Hong Kong from June 24-26.
