A recent publication by Etihad Airways highlights a significant partnership with Ezhou Huahu Airport in China, announced during Air Cargo Europe 2025. This collaboration aims to enhance trade opportunities between China and the global market while expanding Etihad CargoS reach throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

the agreement was formalized by key figures including Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo officer at Etihad Airways, along with Luo Guowei and Li Wei from Hubei International Logistics Airport Company. Their meeting at the Etihad Cargo booth marks the beginning of a promising long-term alliance.

Under this new agreement, Etihad Cargo plans to bolster its operations at Ezhou Huahu Airport, which is set to become a vital hub within its extensive network in China.This initiative complements existing services in major cities like Shanghai and Shenzhen, providing customers with enhanced access and versatility.

“Ezhou Huahu Airport stands out for its exceptional logistics capabilities,” noted Stanislas Brun. “This collaboration will leverage those strengths across Europe,Africa,and the Middle East. It’s an exciting chance to develop more efficient logistics solutions; those who don’t engage may miss out on significant opportunities.”

The focus of this partnership includes increasing flight frequencies,launching new routes,and developing joint strategies for cross-border e-commerce as well as cold chain logistics for high-value goods. by integrating Ezhou’s warehouse facilities into Etihad’s global framework, they aim to create a smooth trade channel that enhances both exports from China and inbound logistics.

Currently operating four Boeing 777 freighters weekly to Ezhou Huahu Airport—asia’s first dedicated cargo airport opened in 2022—Etihad is tapping into an impressive infrastructure that features dual runways each measuring over three kilometers long and can handle up to 3.3 million tonnes of cargo annually.

Luo Guowei expressed enthusiasm about this partnership: “It marks a crucial milestone in our airport’s international expansion efforts. With Etihad’s strategic network based in Abu Dhabi opening new avenues for chinese exporters, we’re eager to strengthen connections across continents while exploring further collaborations.”

This agreement aligns perfectly with Etihad Cargo’s vision of fostering integrated regional partnerships that deliver real value within the air cargo sector while supporting China’s rising influence in global logistics innovation.
