A recent publication by the Times of Israel reveals that Mano Maritime, an Israeli shipping firm, is set to launch two unique cruise trips in collaboration with Israel’s Transportation Ministry. These voyages aim to facilitate the return of Israeli citizens currently stranded in Cyprus. The luxurious Crown Iris cruise ship, wich can accommodate up to 2,000 passengers, will be utilized for this operation.
The first voyage is slated to leave from Limassol’s port on Wednesday; though, it’s timing hinges on the prevailing security conditions and requires clearance from Israel’s defense authorities along with other pertinent organizations.
After bringing back the initial group of travelers to Israel, the Crown Iris will make a rapid turnaround and head back to Limassol for a second trip. Each leg of this journey is expected to last around 15 hours. The ship will only pause briefly in Limassol for boarding before making its way back home.
Described as a “5-star floating hotel,” this vessel promises comfort for those eager to return home during these trying times. Interested travelers can book their tickets exclusively thru Mano Maritime’s official website.
Ticket prices are set between €399 and €650 per person—significantly lower then what it costs to operate such journeys—reflecting consideration for the current national circumstances.
Included in these fares are various special arrangements made while docked in Cyprus, such as streamlined passport control processes and enhanced security measures essential for safe travel.
Mano maritime emphasizes that this initiative serves as a vital lifeline for Israeli citizens facing uncertainty about other travel options during this challenging period.
