Passenger vessel refloated after grounding in Lake Erie
Commercial salvage was contracted to remove fuel from the vessel and facilitate the refloating process. At 08:20 on June 29, Coast Guard Sector Detroit received notification that the Goodtime I had been successfully refloated.
The vessel has since been transported to Port Clinton for a hull examination, and the Coast Guard's Marine Safety Unit Toledo is scheduled to conduct a damage assessment.
The Goodtime I is operated by Ohio-based Lake Erie Island Cruises and operates regular cruises around Lake Erie, according to information on the company's website.
