Africa Specialty Risks unveils automated underwriting portal
Reinsurer Africa Specialty Risks (ASR) has introduced a new automated underwriting portal, dubbed ASR 24-7.
The platform is designed for authorised brokers, offering instant policy quotes, full binding capabilities and policy management resources.

ASR 24-7 integrates seamlessly with ASR’s underwriting function, supporting automated pricing and quoting across both insurance and reinsurance products.
The portal is accessible via both mobile and desktop devices, allowing brokers to manage their tasks remotely.
Currently, it accepts renewable energy and directors and officers (D&O) liability risks.
ASR plans to expand the platform to include property, political violence and terrorism, and additional energy lines in the coming months.

In March this year, ASR entered into binding authority agreements with Sava Re, a Slovenian reinsurance company.
Under the agreement, Sava Re will provide a line size of up to $10m (€8.77m) for ASR’s core classes.
ASR operates in Bermuda, Mauritius and through Syndicate 2454 at Lloyd’s.
