Naval Maneuvers: Russia's Warships Engage in Exercises in the Sea of Japan

On June 30, a report from reuters highlighted that russian naval forces conducted missile exercises in the Sea of Japan, targeting simulated maritime threats.According to TASS, the state news agency, these drills involved various components of Russia’s Pacific Fleet executing coordinated strikes against mock enemy vessels.

During this operation, the Varyag Guards missile cruiser—flagship of the fleet—successfully launched a Vulkan anti-ship cruise missile.Additionally, two groups of missile boats targeted their objectives using four Moskit cruise missiles. The Bastion coastal missile system also participated by firing an Onyx anti-ship missile. notably, authorities had previously restricted access to the designated firing area for both civilian ships and aircraft to ensure safety during these maneuvers.
