DHL Express Canada Union Reaches Agreement to Resume Operations
As reported by Unifor, the workers at DHL Express Canada have successfully approved a new collective bargaining agreement, effectively ending a three-week work stoppage.
In a statement released on June 28, the union representing around 2,100 drivers, couriers, and warehouse staff announced that an remarkable 72% of its members voted in favor of a new four-year contract. This deal features a considerable wage increase of 15.75% over its duration, enhancements to pensions for hourly employees and owner-operators alike, improved short and long-term disability benefits, increased severance pay, and updated provisions regarding the use of artificial intelligence in their operations.
“Our members demonstrated remarkable solidarity throughout this process,” noted Unifor’s bargaining committee. “the outcome is a balanced agreement that meets the diverse needs of all DHL workers.”

By June 20,delivery services were halted nationwide as new federal regulations prohibiting replacement workers during strikes took effect.
