Stockholm Metro Secures Innovative Digital Partnership for Enhanced Train Operations
In Sweden, the transport authority Storstockholms Lokaltrafik has teamed up with Alstom to enhance digital systems for the Movia C20 and C30 metro trains operating in Stockholm.
This partnership will focus on several key areas: remote diagnostics for vehicles, dialog systems between trains, CCTV streaming, and energy usage monitoring. Alstom is set to provide ongoing software updates along with specialized testing environments.Plus, they’ll offer round-the-clock technical support to swiftly address any issues that arise. Training sessions for SL’s technical team are also part of the deal, ensuring they’re equipped to handle urgent cybersecurity challenges.
This new agreement builds on an existing contract related to rolling stock supply and is set to last five years starting April 1, 2025, with a potential two-year extension.
“By partnering with Alstom for operational support and system progress, we can adapt these technologies as our needs change and as cybersecurity threats evolve,” stated Maria Signal Martebo, Managing Director of alstom Sweden on May 6.
